I have recently purchased a USB Pen Drive at Dadar Station Bridge, for a measly sum of 300 rupees, the USB in question was a 80 GB Pen Drive. I know I took a stupid risk and got it, but it was too good to be true and I succumbed to temptation. As I got home and found out, it was a duplicate product under the name of a well known Manufacturer, Transcend;there were also USB Pen drives of another manufacturer KIngston. Obviously the Companies, whose names I have taken are not to be blamed and are not at fault. But What I would like to be done is to stop these Duplicate Manufacturers to be stopped altogether.
I went back the other day and like me there were 4 more consumers who were duped of their money and caught 2 of the sellers, but they refused to return the money, and said that we could take a new piece inexchange, but when we asked them to come to a cybercafe to check the goods, they flatly refused. Upon questioning them from where do they get these dupicates, they mentioned Masjid Bunder. I have not found the exact same seller who sold me the Pen drive yet. I also discouraged 4 people from buying the same product.
Also the Police has better work to do then nab some sellers of Duplicate products. They would probably just laugh it off, and say this is India the Land of fraudsters, Your fault. We need to nab the sellers of Duplicate and Fake Products in the Markets all over and get them behind lockup for duping consumers. Hope this is the correct medium for complaints of Dupicate products.
