May 27th a new black berry phone (Curve 8250) was purchased from Axis Store in BEL Road.
Phone worked fine for a week, then often forgot to catch the tower (Vodafone Network)
First i visited vodafone store and replaced the sim card, problem still persisted.
On June 29th i visited redington india near Cantonment Stn (opp sigma mall) which calls itself as authorised service partner (but actually authorised damage partner) for blackberry handsets in india.
Order number was 02709. and phone was under warranty of 18 months (written in the box).
after 15 days, they came up with a message that the phone is a outcome of customer abuse, hence warranty is void.
for making customer fool and to show they are genuine, they showed fake photographs of a damaged PCB (it was too big.. i doubt as if it was really of my phone)
surprisingly they also said water inside.
i decided to take my phone back and went to their store again (petrol is 74 rupees a litre in bangalore) 9 kms from my place.
they gave my phone in a dead condition, (Track ball, display, keypads- nothing was working) i could do only funeral of my phone in some graveyard.
My first question was - why keypad, track ball and display are not working (I thought if network is not working, i can give the phone to my daughter, who can use it as a music player atleast)
their answer was surprising
when a service person opens phone, anything can happen (even damage too)
are the service personnel they employ, come from Slums of Dharavi?
dont they have money to train the person?
how come they can play with customer's hard earned money? (we get salary only if we swipe our card 9.5 hours a day for 22 days in a month with TAX Deducted)
i asked them to retest.. they agreed,
again after a month they called me to take phone back..
this time a new surprise - phone has major cracks.. across the body...
they asked to pay 180 bucks
i asked escalation contacts, they gave 2 mail ids of Sivakumar and Mahesh both bearing redington.co.in domain.
i am mailing them since august, but no reply till now.
i am sending a legal advocate notice by this december if they dont respond.
