To whom it may concern,
A friend of mine in H.P. is expecting one dehumidifier (which cost USD 100) from Korea (track # EM031979052KR). It was received at a local post office in Korea PM 01:07, 18th Jul. 2011 and as we have tracked it, it has been detained at the Delhi customs since PM 11:27, 22nd Jul. 22. It is a personal gift, which does not require IEC.
Since the local monsoon weather being harsh for her health, she desperately needs her dehumidifier. I had no problem so far sending / receiving such gifts of such kind to / from friends and families in Korea, Japan, Taiwan, and the United States through EMS and there are numerous websites where people order electronics and the companies send the items overseas through EMS.
So far, oddly enough we haven't even got any letter from the customs mentioning the situation. So we request the Delhi Customs to inform us A.S.A.P. which regulation the EMS shipment is considered by the customs to have violated, and what should be done to clear the customs to the email address below.

Sincerely,
Lee
