Camera Gone Dead

I bought a Sony DSCH50 Camera from Japan with international warranty. It has now gone dead. It is still under warranty and so I went to get the camera repaired. They say that I cannot avail warranty in India since it was not bought in India inspite of international warranty. They are really cheating with the customer and asking me to pay for the repairs. Please get me done repair while under warranty.
