Airtel Mobile internet not activating

I have bought LG P500 (Lg Optimus 1) on 29 Nov 10. I have Airtel prepaid connection, under number 9971325810. But Since I bought Phone I have ben struggling to get my Internet activated and also connect phone to PC. I have called up both airtel and also visited mobile store from where I bought cell, but no joy so far.

I need ur help to provide me solution so that I can optimally utilise my phone internet applications. Pse tell me how to configure settings on the phone to enable activation of internet Airtel connection & with PC.
