Sirs,

I purchased directly from Godrej Boyce Mfg.Co. Ltd., a Fridge, 250 Litres Double Door. The order was booked by Salesman D.Ashok – Code No.4428. He offered that if I pay a sum of Rs.15, 525/- (Rupees Fifteen Thousand Five Hundred Twenty Five Only) a new Fridge would be delivered to me on exchange of my old fridge. I agreed for the said proposal and paid a sum of Rs.500/- (Rupees Five Hundred Only) as advance on 18.06.2011.

A Fridge was delivered through vehicle bearing No. TN21AG 8451 bearing Invoice No.841/93145046 dated 14.07.2011. At the time of delivery, the said Fridge was in damaged condition. When it was pointed out to the person who delivered the said Fridge, Ashok, Salesman requested me to take delivery and informed me that after inspection by Technician, new Fridge would be delivered to me. I believed the said assurance and took delivery and paid the balance amount.

One technician by name Sayed came and inspected the Fridge. After a month of delivery changed the damaged door. The door which was replaced did not have a handle. From the date of replacement, water started leaking from the Fridge. After repeated phone calls and complaints, the said door was again replaced. But the replacement did not rectify the defect.

Since repeated complaints did not have any response, on 03.02.2012 I gave a Complaint and persisted that the said defect should be rectified immediately, failing which, I will be constrained to take appropriate proceedings. Then only a Technician by name Vijayakumar came and inspected the Fridge and informed me that the said Fridge could not be rectified and it must be replaced by a new Fridge. He talked to the concerned Manager. I also talked to Mr. Muthukumar, Service Centre Manager, Cell No.93452 21062 on 13.02.2012 and 14.02.2012. He requested me to bear with him for 2 days and he would come and inspect along with another Manager by name Mr. Vijayakumar and replace the defective Fridge with new one. Even though the Officials have categorically stated that the said Fridge could not be repaired, the same was not replaced.

Ironically, Mr. Ravi Bhatt, National Service Head sent a Letter stating that I have been selected as Smart Care Ace Customer with ACE No.0600557244 and that their Technician would attend to my complaint within 4 hours. But I have made more than 500 calls from 14.07.2011. I belong to middle class family. The officials are treating me in an insulting way and informed me that I can do nothing to a big company like Godrej.

I issued a notice dated 16.02.2012 to Godrej & Boyce Mfg. Ltd., and their officials through my Advocate. Godrej & Boyce Mfg.Co., Ltd., Chennai and Mr. Muthukumar, Manager, Service Centre, Chennai “refused” to receive the said notice. I am sending a copy of Notice for your ready reference and for more particulars.

Please take up my grievance and fight for my right.
