Reliance Digital came up with an advertisement in the Times of India on 10 Apr 10 stating that ACs will be delivered and installed within 24 hours. While i was contemplating whether to purchase the AC the salesman promised that the delivery and installation would be done as per the advertisement.
However as soon as i paid the money the tune changed and they started saying how difficult it would be to deliver and how it can be delivered only in 48 hours. I insisted and finally had to speak to the store manager who assured me that the installation and delivery would happen in 24 hours.
Accordingly the AC was delivered on Sunday at 1300 hours. When i asked the delivery boys about the installation the guys said that the engineer would be arriving in the evening. No one came.
On Monday afternoon at about 14000 hours i got a call from the reliance digital call centre informing me that an engineer would arrive on Tuesday.
Nothing happened on Tuesday. When i called the agency the man in charge one mr Chaudhury said that the AC has only been delivered to me on Tuesday and hence installation would not be possible. When i told him that the AC has been delivered to me on Sunday claimed ignorance and said that he AC would now be installed only on Thursday. When i insisted, he said that the engineers would be there to install it at 8 AM on Wednesday.
Wednesday when no one came till 1100 hrs i called the service centre and they again claimed total ignorance of the issue.
Frankly i do not know when the AC will now get installed. And there is no way that these people can be held responsible for their actions. Surprisingly there is no may Reliance Digital can be contacted on the internet to register a complaint!
Reliance has cheated and misled me on the quality of service they would provide me if i brought the AC from their shop. It has led to loss of faith on their brand and unnecessary financial and emotional tensions.
