Gas Refilling problem

Dear Sir,

Sub: Faulty Air-Conditioner and unsatisfactory after-sales service / dealer behavior

Ref: AC 184EWBN (4Star 1.5 Ton Split) Samsung purchased from M/s Ruchika Sales Pvt. Ltd. (Ranchi, Jharkhand) vide their invoice No. RSPL 329 dated 28.04.2010

I purchased a Samsung AC of above reference from M/s Ruchika Sales Pvt Ltd, Sarda Sadan, Niwaranpur, Ranchi, Jharkhand on 28 April.

We would like to inform you that the AC has not been working for the last 4 months since its installation in May’10. Initially, we were informed by the dealer’s engineer that there was no gas in the AC and it required a gas-refilling. After repeated reminders on the Samsung Toll Free No. 180030008282, the AC was taken to the service station for gas-refilling.

Even after gas-refilling, the AC didn’t work. After repeated requests to the dealer at his office / over telephone, their mechanic inspected the AC and had stated that the compressor of the machine was faulty. In spite of various efforts by the dealer’s / service centre engineers to repair the AC, the AC is still not functional.

On seeing the problems in new AC and unsuccessful numerous repair efforts of the engineers, we requested the dealer to either replace the AC with a new one / refund the entire money back to us. The dealer agreed to our request and verbally assured us that the money would be refunded once their authorized officials signed the cheque.

We would like to inform you that the dealer, during our last visit to his office for collecting the refund cheque, denied us the refund and stated that we would have to take the same faulty AC back after their engineers repaired it.

We requested the dealer that the said AC, which was not functioning right from date of installation, had undergone lot of unsuccessful repair exercises and we were not comfortable with using the same. Instead of keeping up with his promise, the dealer behaved very indecently and refused us the refund on some unreasonable arguments.

Since the purchase, the AC has not performed upto the standards for a single day. We are completely unsatisfied with the AC and services of the dealer. The most sorry part of the entire episode was that the only objective of the dealer was to sell the AC rather that building the brand name and customers. The dealer is bringing disrepute to the brand name of "SAMSUNG".

We request you to replace the faulty AC and take some action on the dealer. Communication from your end would be highly appreciated.
