Bad service from Nokia Care outlet

I gave the above mentioned phone to the Nokia Care outlet (Music Planet), in sector 15 market faridabad.

The issue was that about 3 days back the phone display's backlight had suddenly gone dim, and though the text was being displayed correctly, it was so dim that nothing could be read. The phone was however working properly, i.e calls could be made and received, sms could be sent and received (though it was virtually impossible to read).

Upon submitting the phone to the rep sitting at the counter at about 12:10 in the afternoon (rep name Sonu). It was confirmed that the display was faulty, the phone was under warranty, and that though the model was new (it was purchased on 15th July) this was the first of the phone with this issue. The display LCD was confirmed whether was in stock or not, and i was given a delivery time of in the evening.

The working hours are till 1900 for the outlet, so i decided to call around 6pm (1800) to check the status of my phone.

First i spoke with a female with the name Mamta, and she started with mis-information that there is some network issue, and the problem is software related etc etc etc. When i confirmed that i was committed a time in the evening, the same day, then why is there a delay? She confirmed that the phone wont be delivered today, but by tomorrow. I was waiting all day in faridabad to receive the phone and go back home (gurgaon).

Anyhow, the second call also dint help after 15 mins, and then i received a call from her again, that this phone is under liquid damage or something. When i started the recording on my phone, and confirmed with her, that i am recording this conversation for my records, i was put online with a Mr. Tandon. He again stressed the point that there is corrosion and the phone is damaged due to liquid ingress. Whereas it had been confirmed that its a hardware failure and not foreign substance damage.

Upon no resolution or confirmation of repair from the outlet, i raise this complaint.

Also i would like to add, that people are discouraged to take receipts for repairs carried out, and paid for in cash, by saying that they will be charged tax on it.

This happened while i was waiting to give my phone for repair. The customer asked for a receipt or confirmation of the money being taken, but was discouraged. I suggested to ask for a receipt, and the person at the delivery counter, kept on harping on about paying tax, and increasing the cost etc.

IM sorry, but after more than 12 years, and more than 55 phones being bought in the family from the same brand, i dont expect Nokia to behave like this.
