I have purchased a Nokia C6 from Pappilon Stores in Thane, on 6th November. The handset developed a major hardware problem in the mid of February and was submitted at a Nokia Care Center at Tembhi Naka, Thane on 18th Feb. I faced problems submitting it at the Nokia Care center because the phone is manufactured in Malaysia (they checked it form the IMEI number) and, according to them, the warranty is not valid in India and hence it could not be serviced in India.
The hardware issue, however, is that the headset icon doesnt disappear when the headset is off. I wasnt able to use the handset without the headset.
Finally, the Nokia care center people took in my phone for servicing post a discussion with the proprietor of Pappilon Services. I was later on told by the same propietor that if I had submitted the phone at his shop for servicing, he would have done that faster than the Nokia Care center people. I, on the next day, 19th feb, took my phone from the Nokia Care center and gave it to Pappilon for repairing. He had then told me that he would give me the phone by 23rd Feb. However on 23rd feb he further ppostponed it to 26th Feb. On 26th feb when I called him he said that its a major hardware issue and wud easily take more than a week for repairing. I asked him for a replacement of the phone and he said that it could not be provided as it has to be done via the Nokia care center route and not by the dealer route. He has however given me a temporary replacement in the form of a second hand e51, till my nokia c6 is serviced.
Please guide me in what could be done on this.
