No proper responce on gprs net connect & debit amount

Dear Sir,

there are two parts of the compliant

1. GPRS net connection

I bought a new cell HTC P3400, which is supposed to be operating on Airtel network only in India.,

I'm trying very hard to fetch GPRS NET CONNECT., Tried calling up customer care 121, 9890098900, almost made 20 calls till date for last 8 -10 days.,

I got GPRS ACTIVATED via a sms, but phone setting sms is not responding back to connect, while speaking to executives in customer care, they say, this handset may not be GPRS Compliant, & if at all.. they are not been brief about it yet.,

also, recently there was Rs.150 debited to my prepaid card, without any information., i still don't know why.

please help me
