In Patiala there is a child clinic called Aniljit's Child Care which is being run by Dr. Aniljit Singh (His public profile can be seen on linkedin - http://in.linkedin.com/pub/aniljit-singh/40/809/14).
We have a very bad experience with this doctor. We went to this doctor with our 2 days old baby as he was a little lethargic (was sleeping for a long time and was not taking proper feed) and we thought of consulting a doctor. When we met him he examined our baby and scared us saying it seems the sugar level of the baby is low and i would recommend you to get the blood test done and admit the baby in my nursary (ICU). We got the blood test done and the sugar level of the baby was 52 to which he said its low and you need to admit the baby. We didn’t had any other option and were scared so we admitted our baby (Later on we got to know that for a new born baby sugar level above 40 is perfectly fine).
This doctor gave drip to our 2 days baby and started giving lactogen and put him in the nursery during night time saying we have proper arrangements and there are nurses round the clock. He said i am also watching babies through cameras at home (his house is just behind his clinic) so you don’t worry. Somehow we were not very convinced and were also scared, so we decided to take a room in his clinic and stay there so that atleast we will be around. As we were suspecting there was only one nurse during night that was totally in experienced and didn’t know anything. We were watching our baby through the glass door and our baby was continuously crying. Not only just our baby, there were few other babies there and most of them were crying a lot and this nurse was simply sitting outside and was playing on her mobile. When we asked her she said babies normally cry so you don’t worry. We were very upset and wanted our baby back. 2 days old baby was lying in the ICU with a drip on his hand which was so painful to see. We called the doctor in the night and told him the situation and asked him to come. He said he cannot come and will check in the morning. We were surprised to hear his tone and the way he rejected from coming. Here i would like to tell you that he had taken full amount (room rent, ICU charges many other charges) in advance at the time of admission.
We were very upset and asked the nurse to give our baby back to us. We got our baby and took him to our room which we had taken in his clinic. Baby was continuously crying and nurse was of no help and did nothing, infact she kept on saying we are irritating the baby thats why he is crying. At around 4am we again called the doctor but he again refused to come and said that your baby is fine you handle him and i'll come in the morning. We got frustrated and after waiting for long early in the morning we decided to move from there and got to some other doctor. I just called Aniljit to tell him that we are leaving. when we were leaving at around 6:30 am, he came but we did not stop and wanted to immediately go to some good doctor.
We went to some other senior Pediatric and he confirmed that baby was fine and the sugar level was also perfect. Because of the drip and other wrong treatment baby was continuously crying. We got the proper treatment from there and thanked God for saving our baby from a doctor like Aniljit. I would not recommend Dr. Aniljit singh to anybody and would request every individual to keep your children away from him. He is just making money by misguiding innocent people and playing the life of small kids.
