We want to bring everybody’s kind attention to a clear case of medical negligence and wrong treatments causes to unexpected sudden death of our mother. We are shocked after we have noticed some of the eye caching flaws of the treatments (Please refer to the attached ‘Concerned points’) in treatment records, this miserable incident almost destroyed our family, our father is a heart patient and he is now under acute mental depression and we became mentally handicapped. Our loss is irrecoverable but through this letter we are begging justice to the honourable minister.
Our mother late Rina Das [Patient Reg No AD/10-11/02542] was admitted in Eskag Sanjeevani Multispecialty hospital, Kolkata (http://eskagsanjeevani.com/) on 21st Feb with acute ‘Urinary Track Infection’ condition (She was controlled diabetic and hypertensive.) under Dr. Pratim Sengupta (Nephrologist) [Reg. No. - 56710 of WBMC] as advised by him, but seems like Dr. Sengupta did not handle it properly and it turned into chronic disease. Finally after 43 days of his treatment she died on 5th April as a result of brain stem haemorrhage occurred during the process of Dialysis in ICCU room through immature AV Fistula on 4th April (the decision for Dialysis taken by Dr. Pratim Sengupta alone and all on a sudden at 9 AM on 4th April after cancellation of my mother’s Endoscopic Investigation at 8-30 AM due to Seizures). Even before taking her to ICCU for dialysis on 4th April morning around 8:45 am, we had a chat with our mother and she was talking normally, also there was no death threat for her kidney disease and her planned discharge date was 4th April. Our mother’s sudden death was very much unexpected, and we are very much sure that was not supposed to happen suddenly unless something major had gone wrong with her treatments.
Our heartiest request to all of you beware of those accused hospital and doctor before taking any medical help. We are taking all possible legal actions against all accused parties in this case as it is classic example shows how negligence, inabilities, inefficiency, carelessness in medical profession is taking innocent people’s life. Hope you will also agree that this is now became a gangrene of our health system. If we don’t take any disciplinary action to throughout them out of the system, this selfish and shameless group will continue to take away many more life for their own profit. If anyone wants to help us in this regard, we’ll be grateful.
Note: We have already submitted complain to ‘West Bengal Medical Council’ dated 30th August with all exhibits.
