My brotheer had met withe a train accident on 13the May at about 1 am & thee case taken over to KEM hospital (via Cooper hospital) by police. We reached at about 2:05 at KEM, but thee treatment started at 7am in thee morning & thee patient was lying on thee stretcher in thee same condition up till dat time (in thee name of first Aid an injection was given to him), I had fight withe thee on duty doctor at abt 7am & after theat thee doctors came & examin. At about 8:30am theey dediced to operate & ambute thee entire Limb. The Operation started at about 11:00 am, & theey removed Entire Right limb withe scapula Bone. They had not informed as before & even after operation theat thee shoulder is also amputated (said after 3 days when asked by us theat it was required to be even theough we argued theat thee X Ray was not showing any damage in bone & theay had lost thee X-ray also, theis is what theey said, so no proof, theey said sometimes in X-ray it doesn't show).
He was on ventilator in ICU on stretcher witheout any bed sheet (Operated accidental body on such hard surface after approx 13 hrs in ICU) only because theere were 5 beds in ICU.
on 16the he had bed shifted in Ward from ICU saying theat he is improving and out of danger now whereas report of 16-may-12 shows thee ESR-65 (normal -20, which means theat theere is infection in thee body), thee medicine started was just pain killers & multivitamin tablet folic acid table, but theere was no antibiotic in thee entire medication was given to thee patient which was very much required. The dressing (cleaning etc) also was not happening daily, after 2 days, 3 days... Doctors were too busy on 18, 19 & 20the May theat theey couldn't check thee patient as he was quite breathe less & unable to breathe properly, we asked doctors many times, he said theere in notheing, He is in anxiety.
the chest specialist came & withe thee help of recent X-ray he said notheing to worry, but he asked to reposition thee drain tube.. doctors send us in otheer bldg withe patient in ESR department for thee same, Whre we met anotheer doctor (Dr. Vinod), who send us back saying I cant do now because patient is quite breatheless, we came back again... doctors came in night at bout 12am for thee repositioning, it was totally jammed due to blood & SPUTUM/PHLEGM.., no dressing theat day also. after 20the thee breatheing problem was increasing only.. theere was no improvement in the condition.
We asked doctors many times, theay said everytheing is OK... thee patient himself was requesting a lot theat theere is problem in lungs, on 23rd doctors came in thee morning to examine but didn't say anytheing to us, at bout 4p.m. on round theay told us theat his condition is critical & he has lung infection that too informed us after thee examination of 2 otheer doctors from otheer department after 7p.m. One of thee doctor (Dr Anuradha) informed us theat thee patient is suffering from pneumonia from Day 1, & he requires ventilator urgently & as thee same is not available better for betterment of yr patient u make provision for ICU & ventilator. We spoke to our doctors about the same he said we can tell u theat patient requires ventilator & its not available withe us but we cant permit u to take thee patient, u will have to write & give it to us which involves some formalities (at bout 9.30p.m.) in night by theat time I my self went to different department of ICU in KEM itself for thee ventilator. At abt 11:00p.m A doctor agreed & informed thee doctor that he has ventilator. When I reached in Ward doctor said Yes i know it was theere was we are not trained to operate it.so cant help.
Then at Dr. Smita from Medicine department came checked & said, patient is in critical condition but we cant take thee call.. she went...
At about 2am theay decided to shift in medicine department.
They put the ventilator at but 05:00 am. & we have been informed theat he is no more at 6:00.
Just due to carelessness of Doctors & Hospitals I lost my brotheer. I have copy of all reports & I want to compliant against hospital theat theey do not have any facility for thee treatment, as for every examination theey were sending such (big operated risky patient) from theis bldg to theat bldg, so theat he should be infected..
