I am using a triband DSL unlimited 599 plan. I had booked the plan when it was launched and offered a speed of 256kbps. With the revised speed structure, as it appears on the MTNL official website, it is supposed to give me a speed of 512 kbps. But the current speed that i get is very low, even slower than what i used to initially get. On testing it with the speed tester on the MTNL website (http://202.159.230.232:8888/speed/index.jsp), i observed the speed to be not more that 200 kbps. This is not acceptable for me.
Also, i am facing a problem with the internet connectivity for the past 15 days. The internet just gets disconnected automatically and then restarts after 10-15 mins and works fine for about 20-25 mins. Then its again the same problem. The speed at which the internet was working last 15 days, i felt as if i am using a dial-up connection with a speed of 20 kbps and not a triband connection of 512kbps. The gmail login page, for instance, took 45-50 secs to open, and just as the login page was displayed, there was a sudden loss of connectivity.
I have launched a complaint on thge MTNL toll free number 198 thrice and the MTNL service team has done a substantiaaly good job of working on my issues. They could rectifiy the connectivity problem, but just for a couple of days. The speed issue still remains unanswered.
