I had applied for an Airtel Broadband internet connection about 15 days ago to be installed on the 31st of July. I was told that it would be installed by that time.
On the 1st of August, a Airtel agent came to my place and got the wiring in place but left saying that there is a back-end problem.
On the 2nd of August, the same Airtel agent came but seeing that there is a back-end problem left on the pretext of going to check wiring in the basement. He stopped answering my calls from that point forth and after almost 2 days of calling, he picked up and gave me his manager's number.
From that point forth, I have called his manager, the technical lead, the person who sold me the connection and about 4-5 different people whose designations I am no longer sure of.
I can provide a list of phone numbers of the Airtel 'Customer Care' agents with whom I have talked to get it installed. All of them promise that it will be done by today evening and stop answering the phone from that point forth. If they do pick up, they give someone else's number to call to and disconnect immediately.
I have written to the nodal officer, the appellate authority and walked into a store and lodged complaints, but all to no avail.
I haven't received a satisfactory response of by what time, day or month I will get my connection.
On asking to get the cheque I had provided, I am cited that since you provided that to a third party agent, there is nothing the Airtel guys can do.
I am absolutely frustrated with the 'Customer Service' and the entire process. I still don't have any idea of when I will get the connection and any appropriate answer of why there is this delay.
What happened to 'Customer is King'? I am having the feeling that I am a beggar who has to go to knocking to each agents door to get the the connection installed!
