Booking of flight tickets
Ignorantly over charging and non cooperation

Dear Sir,

Refer: Trip ID (90... 185) with SPICEJET AIRLINE (Booking agency CLEARTRIP)

I, Manish shankar with my family had done a booking on cleartrip today on 24th August 09, which had a fare of Rs 23, 448 and travel dates were 12th Sep 09 from Kolkata to Jaipur (SG807) and 14th Sep 09 from Jaipur to Kolkata (SG806).

In all fairness two issues needs to be highlighted for your kind consideration.

a) WILLFULLY & IGNORANTLY EXTRA CHARGING: Ignorance has a cost but it costs you dearly when people / institutions are non cooperative. Moreover, differential pricing is lucrative but it is more lucrative if you do not inform the passenger properly. In the wake of ignorance you at least fair a chance to overcharge them and this is what has happened to us. The cleartrip total pricing was coming up to Rs 23, 448 whereas Spicejet website, after I made the booking once I checked later on was the cost was reflecting to be Rs 21, 008 with cleartrip. Now it is very difficult for a naive like me to assess that what kind of association the airline and the these booking agencies are having. Just by be fooling us have made the airline as well as the booking agency earn a differential of Rs 2440. Good to have this additional source of income but is appropriate to let the matter face the law of land.

b) ARROGANCE & NON COOPERATION FOR MINOR MISTAKES: Added to this plight, one mistake of mine being that fourth name in the passenger list which is of my mother Ms Nandini Jha (was wrongly misspelt as Ms Nandita Jha in the ticket). On duly informing, the booking agency CLEARTRIP spokes person shifted the liability to the SPICEJET Airline representative Mr Anzhar. And I was finally sounded off that it can't be changed, instead If I still wished for the name change should go ahead with the ticket cancellation which costs Rs 750 per head per ticket meaning there by coughing up additional Rs 6000. Isn't it another good source of income or better say good way to get people robbed.

Great way to go ahead for the airline as well as the booking agency and long live this association. But all said and done as a responsible citizen of the country, it is pitiful to state but people are being misguided and cheated by such irresponsible agencies and I thought it was appropriate to get this escalated and at least save others from being cheated.

With hope of escalations and appropriate actions to both of the parties.
