I am working in one of the BPO sectors in India which is suppose to be one of the best revenue earning organization of the country. This is my first Customer Care job. I am having experience of around 3 yrs with the HR field. I am a MBA graduate.
As the recession hit the globe, i was laid off and took up this job. I was informed by the HR during my interview that even if i do not have the relevant experience but still my total experience will be consolidated and will be considered as 1 year of experience. I will be paid 14, 000 change per month. To my surprise and shock i have now realized that i will be taking back to back calls from the UK customer for 8 hours every day and five days a week.
My salary will not go beyond 10, 000 change per month inclusive of my allowances. My full month's night shift allowance is 1, 200 Rs.
I had to sign an official paper from the company that says in case i leave the company before one year i will not get my 10, 000 Rs deposit money back which i had to give them before my offer letter.
I am very distressed and want to know if this is a fair practice from anyone who would like to help me?
