Date of packing

The bread manufacturers affix the date upto which one can consume the bread. We are in darkness about the date of packing. Why not the date of packing can't be affixed on the pack. I bought a bread made by Indrajeet Foods pvt. ltd, Vadgaon, Sinhagad Road, Pune 411041 brand name is St. Michael Wheat bread.
