I recd a citi card with my shopper stop card, which I wasnt using since I have cards which I have been using for years now without any trouble. When I wasnt using the card, i recd a couple of calls from the citi card dept on the points and rewards wud recieve on using it, then one day unfortunately on one of my impluse shopping spree i used the card, for a small amount if Rs 4500/- approx, since I wasnt carrying cash. Well i can today tell you that I made a terrible mistake using it. This was in sept'07

I didnot recive any bill for the expenditure made, in the mean time I travelled abroad and used it for my hotel bill payment in oct'07 . Even when I returned from my trip I didinot hear anything from them.

I then called the citibank dept and asked for y I wasnt recieving any bills and upon enquring got to know that as per them i have been receiving sms's when i checked the number it was wrong and likewise for the address mentioned in the records.

I got the same rectified and the CCE stated that since I the fault was of the bank, i wont be charged . well that was that. Only after that did i recieve the duplicate bill of the 1st transaction. The mistake i did was not to take the name of the CCE i spoke to and the date i spoke to.

But since i wanted it in writing, I wrote a mail to them and from then on its a series of mails starting from Nov19'07 onwards till date wherein, they ar'nt ready to accept the fact that i didnt receive the bills. I asked them to give me the POD for the bill .. but guess what they are silent in that area!!!.well looks like this bank particulary belives that they are always right. Incidentally this is the only bank which is in news for all the wrong reasons... well ironic??.

All that they have done is allot a new customer complaint number to the mail everytime you write to them. They never have a name to the mail its alwyas signed as mager customer care, I need to ask these guys dont they have a name??

and honestly speaking I have used all sorts of cards possible but havent ever experienced such a bank, where you keep repeating the same thing over and over again to the bank and they keep answering in the same tone, as if its auto drafted message, which is given to all sorts of complains coming in.

They reversed the late fees charges, but there is a interest charges, which is like 1400 for a bill of less than 4500/-, I am tired of explaining them the issue over and over again. though in all the series of mails that I have exchanged with them, they havent bothered explaining as to what these charges stand for it since the charges stste interest p.a... any ideas??

I will also like to point out here is that it was me who called up to check as to why I wasn't receiving any bills for the transactions made instead of somebody from their staff/ dept.

Do u think it makes sense writing to Ombusdsperson?? any ideas??
