Gooday to all the Management of Citizen Watches,

Hi This is Pranjal Changkakati again for the N th time writing to u all about the issues going on still with my Citizen watch bought in Kolkata. Now I have been transfered to Chennai and i have already repaired the crown once in Chennai showroom.

Today i gave my watch back to The Exclusive Citizen Watch Store, Shop # F-132, 3 rd Phase, Spencers Plaza, Chennai. The watch was recieved by Mr. Ameen and the scratches were again present in the SAPPHIRE GLASS as recurred earlier. Within these (2006 to 2009) period 6 monthhs or more the was has been in your custody for repairing or replacement as u may take it.

My receipt Ref # is 3003 as received by me today. Sorry to say again but as a Customer i feel i should not be given a replacement glass and again the same scratches will occur in some months time. My watch dial is fading along with the hands reason not known to me . i have always given to u and only your service centers for repairing.

I kindly request u all to refund my money back and thanks for all the grieviances given to me till date. Compensation cannot be given as i only know what kind of situations i ve gone through all this period from the day i bought a Citizen watch. Thanks for keeping quiet as well with replies only given when innumerable calls are made to Bangalore Office, First Citizen Shop and Various Managers of that Shop.

Dear Citizen Management,

My watch was given to the First Citizens shop again in Salt Lake, Kolkata on 15/10, the sales man who took the watch said that the Sapphire glass is a HARD glass and not scratch proof (lack of product knowledge), then he spoke to the Store Manager, Kolkata about the same as I strongly believe that both the parties are aware of me and my fate with my watch so far. I wanted to speak to him over the phone but was refused. After I came out of the shop the Store Manager calls back and inquires about my watch. I was given a receipt for the same. i have a long list of grievances with the bad luck of buying a CITIZEN watch. I was also given a visiting card and was asked to follow up with the mentioned phone numbers in Kolkata.

Everybody is only passing the ball in somebodies else court. That's the usual treatment i have been receiving so far. Thank you all for doing the same to me from August/ September till 15/10 and still I am doing all the running around the bushes.

What am i supposed to do now again and again?

I was also promised verbally over the phone by the head of Kolkata Citizen that it will not have a single scratch anymore and I should be relaxed. I believe the H.O.D of Citizen Kolkata is fully aware of the same as well as Mr. Varghese in Bangalore.

Anxiously awaiting for a positive response from the management of Citizen.

A suffering customer for the last one year. Rest assured I have all the proof to take the help of Consumer court for a full Refund of my money and the sufferings I have gone through till the time I am writing this letter.

COUPLE OF DAYS VIA PHONE CALLS I HAD CALLED SHOP & ASKED THEM D STATUS OF D SAME, I WAS TOLD DAT D WATCH IS BACK IN TOWN, & ONLY AFTER D OFFICIAL FORMALITIES, I WILL GET IT BACK, I HAD ALSO LEFT MY PHONE # WID D PERSON WHOM I SPOKE TO GET A DELIVERY STATUS.I WAS ASSURED DAT SOMEBODY WUD CALL ME & INFORM ABOUT D SAME. ALAS NO CALLS FROM D SHOP TILL D MAOMENT I AM WRITING DIS LETTER TO U ALL.

AS PER D FORWARDED MESSAGES I BOUGHT D WATCH COZ IT HAD A SAPPHIRE GLASS ON IT.

STILL SCRATCHES OCCURED ON IT.

WAT R UR EXPLNATIONS REGARDING D SCRATCH?

WHY FASE PROMISES R GIVEN TO UR CUSTOMERS?

Dear Sir,

We have changed the glass with an absolutely new one. We would like to inform you that the hard-glass as mentioned by you is not a scratch-proof one. Only sapphire glasses are scratch-proof. The model you are having donʼt has a sapphire glass.

Similarly, the body of the watch is not scratch-proof and can develop scratches due to normal ware and tear.

We will definitely help you if there is any other complains within the warranty norms.

I Mr Pranjal Changkakati bought a Citizen Eco Drive Perpetual watch on 15/07 for Rs. 15, 750, a white one. After a week I had a scratch on the glass which made me upset, returned the same to Shoppers Stop and they gave me a new watch in return. I choose not to take the new watch but put in some more money and buy a better one. So on 31/07/06, i opted to buy a watch for Rs. 18, 380 and was using it.

After around 20 days of usage, i again got a couple of scratches on the glass of the watch. I felt ashamed of going back to Shoppers Stop and fight for it as it was supposed to be a hard glass. So i opted to go to the First Citizen counter and gave them my watch to change the glass on 4/5 of September. I also had a word with Mr Varghese regarding the delay of repair on 29/09 .He assured me that the watch would reach Kolkata from Bangalore on 30/092006 .Alas, I got a call on 07/10 that my watch is with the First Citizen shop and i can collect it.

I went to collect my watch and the amount to be paid for the change of glass was Rs.403 told me. On checking the watch i found the glass with full of scratch marks along with the body (glass was supposedly to be changed and replaced).

Paying the repair charges is not a big deal but the watch being held for repair taking 35 days. I am not aware of the reason for delay or where my watch was stuck. As a customer i bought a Citizen watch in the hope of the high standards of quality the compamny seems to portray in front of the consumers. The Quality of Citizen Watches as experienced by me has been a learning experience that the company doesnot bother about the customers welfare, no value of timely service (time is a major factor in everybodys life), the stress i had to go through to call up the First Citizen hop Area Sales Manager and Mr Varghese in Bangalore. Hence, i waste my time and energy running from pillar to post tracing the status of my watch. End result i get a very poor quality of reparing done on my almost brand new watch.

I am very upset of not being able to wear the watch for those 35 days till date even after buying it with a premium i paid.

As a consumer/customer i demand an explanation to my turmoil and i will not ever in my entire life will buy a citizen watch, neither i would like to take a replacementof the same watch agin as it has already made a bad impression on my mind.

Kindly give me Premium i paid for the watch and thanks for all the experience i had with Citizen watches. I will be returing the bills, warranty, box to the First Citizen Shop today and the rest is upto you whether you pay me back or not. I think if you dont take care of your customers somebody else will. So, even if you don't return my money it won't make any difference to me, as i am bound to share my experience with my family, friends, colleagues etc.
