I am a customer with HDFC Bank for an account which I opened in February through the organization I am working with. It's a salaried aaccount.
HDFC Bank without my consent or without ever informing me, changed my name. The proof and the original form that I gave them have my name as "Nazia". However they changed it on thier own to - Nazia D/O and then my father's name.
I get to know about this a year later when I ordered a fresh check book. I called them immediately and inquired about the same. They said that this is the name I have given in the original application. I asked them to check the papers and they keep on saying that this is the name that I have written on the form. A year later, another of thier assosiate agreed that in my original application my name is just "Nazia" and that they have changed it as thier systems were not updated.
The lied to me and also did not corrected my name even when I asked them to. I have sent them written application for the same and they say that I would again have to sumbit the application to change my name as they could not track any of the applications I have sent them. The last application that I sent to was on Nov-07.
The worst part is that told me that I should not trust an employees from HDFB bank that they would have sumbitted my applications to the bank. They feel no guilt to advise me that I should not trust HDFC employees (one of them was from a management post, whom I gave the last application to) and that I should personally visit the main branch.
The icing on the cake is that I submitted an application to change my address by visiting the branch and handed a written application on my own to the concerned person. Still, they have not updated my complete address. This happened in July.
I called them to inquire about the same and they again said that I have given them an incomplete address. I fail to believe them due to all these experiences with the Bank. Still, I sent them an application to again update my address on Nov-07. I have got no results till now and the same response that I should not trust HDFC eomployees and personally give them an application.
HDFC has really harrased and troubled me with my requests of giving me my name correctly in thier records and changing my address correctly.
Every time I call them they straightaway tells me stories and somehow blame me for incompletion of my requests.
If it would have been my personal account I would have closed it a long time back. Since they know that I have to keep this account as long as I am working in the Organiztion where I am working they are taking advantage of this.
Please help me out with this situation as it's not too much that I have asked from HDFC Bank.
