Return of cheques

I would say, this is a request not a complaint. I have closed my p/loan Id no 10531012 dated on 11.01.2008.I have recieved a letter stating that my existing cheques will be destroyed by the bank. Since I am not employed in India and i will unable to keep a track of my transactions, I would kindly request the bank to return the cheques to my residence.
