CORRECTION OF DOB ON POLICY DOCUMENT WICH WAS DELIVERED WITH WRONG DATE OF BIRTH

I have taken ‘UL ENDOWMENT SUVIDHA PLUS HDFC Bank ‘ Dahisar (East) on 10 Jul 08 during my visit to India last year. (20Jun08 to 26 Jun08)

This policy was taken in consultation with HDFC bank rep.’s investment advice which I do take during my visit to India.

I am sorry to say, HDFC Standard Life Insurance did realized cheque on 10 Jul’08 but did not communicate me either my policy no nor sent me document on my overseas address

did not get document till JULY09 when I went to india and followed with HSDC bank rep

When my wife who was at india till Aug09 rreceived policy doc, she found that policy document had wrong date of birth she return doc to HDFC bank rep for correction as HDFC bank rep were point of sale for me.

They sent theses document with formal letter and passport copy to HDFC std life grivence cell which gave me Complaint no 01000000076784.

last two month constant communication with HDFC life "[email protected]" on progress of policy but get std e-mail reply "complaint is still under investigation. We will get back to you with the resolution at the earliest. We assure you the best of our services always."

Dear Sir,

I Ravindra Jyotiswarup Bhatnagar, has taken ‘UL ENDOWMENT SUVIDHA PLUS HDFC Bank ‘ Dahisar (East) on 10 Jul 08 during my visit to India last year. (20Jun08 to 26 Jun08)

This policy was taken in consultation with HDFC bank rep.’s investment advice which I do take during my visit to India. As part of formality, I have provided all requested documents and signed post dated cheque before I left India on 26 June 08. Since this policy was against my NRI (USD) FD pre-mature conversion which has lead time for about 10 days, I advised baker rep initiate processing of policy paper work after 10 July08 .

I am sorry to say, HDFC Standard Life Insurance did realized cheque on 10 Jul’08 but did not communicate me either my policy no nor sent me document on my overseas address

did not get document till last month. It was during my recent visit to India 14 to 21 Jun 09, I personally followed with HDFC bank Dy Manager Rakesh Rana, got policy no with promise to get policy document.

Finally two week back my wife, who is currently at Mumbai on vacation, collected original document from HDFC bank Dy Manager Rakesh Rana. When she reviewed policy document, she found that date of birth (DOB) was wrong on policy document .(8 th Jun 1959 instead of 08 th Jun 1957)

Again she approached to Rakesh Rana HDFC bank Dy manager and has return original document with photo copy my passport for DOB correction. He arranged to send them to your local office for correction with promise to check after week.

Day before yesterday when she followed up with HDFC bank, she was informed to that HDFC Standard Life Insurance can not change DOB and they recommending to cancel policy.

This has given me shock of my life & betrayal of TRUST with ‘HDFC’. I have lot of respect for HDFC as good governance corporate and has long investment tie up since last 23 years, that led me to take this policy with HDFC Standard Life Insurance.

Sir, It will really make one to think on company slogan “ SAR UTHA KE JIYO ”. Your co advise to cancel policy is against pro active customer culture of HDFC and has more bureaucratic flavor which is against the current trend and time. This definitely will make your customer “SAR ZUKHA KE JIYO”.

Pl note I have attached passport copy as per your requirement for verification (Which has DOB) along with policy application. I believe that it was your side mistake for which I should not penalized. Further I have not received any policy document till beginning of jul09 . In fact most of invest company mail original documents to their overseas address if customer is NRI. Is not ridiculous that after paying two installments of IRS 99000 each, one get advise to to cancel policy to correct some typographical error.

I request you to personally look in to matter.. I hope your intervention will lead to correct typographical error rather cancelling policy. This will truly make me to “SAR UTHA KE JIYO”.
