I, Narendra Tekwani, do visit Himalaya Mall several times for Adlabs, Mc Donalds, Kroma etc. Whenever we park our car in the basement, we are told to pay Rs.20/- not as parking charge, but we are given a slip and we are told that we will be refunded the amount if we purchase any product worth Rs.100/- or more. And if we do not buy anything rather if we do not get anything of our choice, then they do not refund the amount.
As per me this is not a good policy and I feel it falls under Restrictive Trade Practice of MRTP Act as I am a Chartered Accountant and am aware of various laws. If Himalaya Mall wants to charge for Parking, we have no objection in paying Parking Charge. but such practice of forcing Customers to buy some product (even if we do not get what we want) is against ethics.
However, in all malls parking is free as it is the responsibility of the mall to arrange for the Parking for all customers visiting the mall for any work. We had gone to Kroma for purchasing a mini keyboard, but it was not available. That is not our fault if we did not get what we want.
In all I want to request you to force them to stop such practice or before entering the mall, inform the customer that this is a Parking Charge and will not be refunded. Kindly stop such undue cheating practices.
