We had a booking with hotel highland park, manali on 12 and 13th of june. Reached manali on 11th, just curious to see the hotel (as we saw it online) we went there to check it out. Had kids along so they ordered french fries, while we had a tour of the place.kids didnt liked the fries and started complaining, just to check we tasted it, to our surprise the potatoes were sour and the oil used was stinking. Just by chance the owner of the hotel Mr Amrish garg was there, on bringing up the matter with him to our utter surprise he reacted indiffrent where by stating all his guests were happy and no body ever has compalined of anything, we insisted him to taste and check for himself the authenticity of the complaint! but it was of no use, he again head his head high, turning a deaf ear to what all we said. On seeing such an attitude and the aweful and sub standard quality of food we decided not to stay in that hotel as getting food there from outside was a problem because hotel is far off from the main market and with kids along running back and forth for food was a problem! we decided to get the refund as our problem was genuine, but the hotel authorities simply denied to give any refund! we were really in a miserable state, as it was peek season and no good hotel had vacant rooms.on raising much of a voice we learned the hotel was working without food licence (from a food inspector) anyways our trip was a mess!!! no full refund and more money spent on other accomodation which we had to saty... as no other option was there.
My request to all those people like me who get the bookings done on net kindly be xtra cautious of what you book, a word of mouth could be better! i hope no body is trapped like us. I need the tourism board to take proper action
