Non receipt of redemption offe

I had purchased a desktop computer from M/s HP and there was a redemption offer. The redemption offer stated that I can pay Rs999/- through DD or a 'Payable at par Cheque' for Rs999/-. I accepted the offer. However, the term 'Payable at par cheque' was not fully understood by me. I wrote on the top of the cheque as 'Payable at par' and signed the cheque for an amount of Rs999/-. Now it appears that the cheque has not been encashed and I am denied the offer.
