I am a British Citizen of Indian Origin. I have Savings Bank accounts at HSBC, Gariahat Branch and in the UK. I went to the Gariahat Branch to deposit money. They had deducted a huge amount in INR (1% of the deposit Rs 112) on the ground of recent RBI rules. I was not told of this even before depositing the amount nor made aware of it at any time before. I like to register a strong protest if it's a recent rule. I shall not send any money to India or HSBC in India if it is not discontinued forthright. I shall circulate this to NRIs & PIOs around the world unless this discriminatory rule is abolished outright.
I am putting a copy of this note to the Banking Ombudsman, RBI and to FINMIN, New Delhi for immediate action or I must get into the act, through my solicitors.
