Dated 13-7-09, at 20:18 Hrs, I rcvd an SMS from VM-HSBC stating payment due of Rs. 59, 265/- to be paid by 03-Aug-09. I'm not a customer of HSBC and that I have been using my phone since Sep'08. It was the first SMS I ever rcvd from HSBC.
This was very distracting. I tried to find the call-center number the night I rcvd msg but the number listed on the page was not correct. Next day I found the number and had a chat with the CC agent (That must have cost me around Rs. 50) to learn that he cannot confirm/help and adviced me to write a mail.
On reply1, HSBC.co.in had to offer regret. I then replied with expression of the loss I incurred (both emotional, time and money) for the unsolicited SMS.
On reply2, HSBC.co.in thanks me for feedback. Not a word on the losses.
I wish to pursue this to a logical and legal conclusion and give an opportunity to HSBC.co.in to learn a lesson and improve/sensitize its service standards.
