This is regarding my conversation with HSBC's Customer Service Executive - Pranav (Female) on Aug 26th.
I was charged Late payment fees and interest charges over Rs 550. I wanted to explain the rep that its not my fault because I dropped the cheque (current) in the drop box on 7th Aug '09 and the due date was 14th Aug 09. I called HSBC helpline on 11th Aug 09 to inquire about the status. The cheque was not cleared till then. I waited till the due date and in the meanwhile I kept on receiving reminders from HSBC. Then on 17th (Monday) I put a stop payment on the cheque and deposited the amount in Cash at the bank.
Then I got my August Statement on August 26th '09, I saw late payment charge and I called HSBC customer service immediately. After the verification was done I tried to explain her the situation but she didnt let me speak and kept on cutting me off. She called me a liar and said I called on 11th but I didnt ask for any status. I asked "Why is she interrupting me? ", but she kept on speaking. I asked her to transfer call to her supervisor, she put me on hold for almost 5 minutes and then she hung up.
I dont understand what kind of people HSBC hires or whct level of traing is goin on. There is no sign of any courtesy or so called "Customer Service".
