Hello,
I have closed my credit card with HSBC in 2005
I cut the card in 4 pieces, dropped it in box in Annanagar, Chennai after which I called the call center and informed.
I had nil balance at that time.
Suddenly couple of months back I got a call that I am due for some amount. I left it without bothering.
Last week I got a call from Recovery department of HSBC on this same topic
I requested them to check and call back.
This Wednesday (18th) those folks again called back. They informed me that legal action is pending if I don't pay the amount.
AFter talking for 1 hour I came to know that they charged for anual fees and it kept on increasing.
It seems I should have followed with the bank to get no dues letter
this letter is the final settlement without which the terms with bank is not closed.
This I was totally ignorant.
since they threatened for legal action I paid Rs 4800/- on Wednesday night itself through their FE as I do not want to go in legal ways.
How far this is correct?
The fact is I *do not * have the card, but still they charged me a whomping Rs 4800/-.
I talked to couple of folks in their department and all were saying only legal action will be severe,
This is highly incorrect and injustice done to me.
Please look into this matter and I would like HSBC to return my hard earned Rs 4800/-.
Note: I will disclose the credit card number once someone call from this department.
thanks
Pradeep
