On 01.08.09, with my ICICI ATM card, I had made transaction (withdrawal) access at SBI ATM, Govindan road, West Mambalam, chennai - 600 033. at 1930 Hrs In the first transaction the msg of not accessable slip I got it. With the doubt I had operated 2nd time also and the reply was the same thro' ATM SLIP.
Immediately I had been to ICICI ATM to access my ICICI ATM CARD, AND FOUND THAT FOR THE TRANSACTIONS MADE AT SBI ATM (2 TIMES) the Total amount of Rs.10, 500/- (5000 5500) was deducted from my ICICI SB Account and I could not draw my available amount.
since my actual balance was not availble I couldn't draw my amount. In the recent Union Budget it was informed that any ATM is accessable at free of cost. IN THE SBI ATM, there is no register to make complaint, and when approached theSBI ATM Security Guard he said he is unaware of anything and I should contact Saidapet, chennai SBI Branch next day to lodge my complaint.
When I contacted n 01.08.09 late evening, the help line NO. of SBI at Bangalore, they had also expressed their inability to help, inspite of my all details given over phone.
Really it was tough time that I have to pay some medical bill to discharge my colleague from hospital on that day night.
Even SBI Bangalore, helpline refuse to register my complaint and said sorry, and even the appropriate authority contact person / number also not given to me agaisnt my plea.
THE ATM OF THE BANK CAN DENY THE ACCESS TO ATM CARD OF OTHER BANK?
BESIDES REFUSAL IS ANY AUTHORITY HAS BEEN GIVEN TO THEM TO DEDUCT AMOUNT FROM
THE ATM CARD WITHOUT CONSENT FROM THE CUSTOMER.
IS THERE ANY SUCH CLAUSE IS EXISTING. GOVT. MADE ANNOUNANCE THAT ALL ATMs ARE CUSTOMER FRIENDLY, WHEREAS IN PRACTICAL IT WAS NO SO.
AFTER TWO HOURS WITH MY SOMANY CALLS TO ALL THE PEOLE, MY DEDUCTED AMOUNT OF RS.10, 500/- WAS SENT BACK TO MY ACCOUNT.
DUE TO ABOVE EVENT, OUR WHOLE PROGRAMME WAS NOT MET, AND EXTRA PAYMENT WAS INCURRED BY US FOR DELAYED DISCHARGE FROM HOSPITAL, BESIDES MENTAL AGONY AND TIME WASTE TO ALL.
HOPE THIS MAY BE BROUGHT TO THE NOTICE OF CONCERNED/ RBI, BEING STATE OWNED BANK LIKE SBI ACCESS IN SUCH A MANNER, HOW CAN WE EXPECT HOW OTHER PRIVATE BANK CAN ACT AS PER THE DIRECTION OF RBI/ FINANCE MINISTRY.
MY HUMBLE REQUEST SUCH A THING SHOLD NOT REPEAT TO ANYONE, ESPECAILLY AFTER DENIAL OF PAYMENT, AMOUNT DEDUCTON SHOULD NOT BE MADE TO ANYONE WITHOUT FAULT OF THEIR AND NOT EVEN MSG/CONFIRMATION TO THEM FOR THE DEDUCTIONS MADE.
WILL ALL THE ATMS WILL BE DEALT WITH ACORDINGLY FOR CUSTOMER FRIENDLY.
