Settlement of dues on ICICI Bank Credit Card A c No. 4477470245753000

I need to bring to your kind attention about my experience as an ICICI Bank customer.

I, Mr Sanjay Thakur, residing at D1-C/15A, Janakpuri, New Delhi-110058, had availed the facility of your ICICI Bank Visa Credit Card just 3 year ago. My credit card number is 4477 4702 4575 3000. I have been utilizing this card for the last 3 years and paid the dues regularly.

Please note unfortunately in Aug’2007 my mother had a heart problem and had under gone a surgery and I had spent Two lack Sixty five thousand for the operation. Further after 02 months she had a brain hamrage and had under gone a major surgery, for that AIIMS charged one lack eighty thousand approx. but she could not survive and died in Oct ’2007. As I am working in a private company, I was not in a condition to pay the credit card payment on time. Therefore bank started charging interest on due amount, I had requested the bank for cancelling the card but they adviced me to make the minimum payment and avail the facility. They kept me charging interest on my account. However I used to make the minimum amount due payment on the card and they kept charging interest on balance amount.

In the month of Nov’2008 I received SMS from ICICI credit card transition POP up service, regarding transaction done on my above said credit card i.e. Rs.2819.67 has been done on 16 Nov to xoom corporation against my Credit Card Account. Where as I have not done any such transaction from my card. Therefore I blocked and cancelled my card immediate on E-mail: [email protected] to avoid any miss use of my card. I got a reply from Mr. Nagarjuna - Customer Service Officer ICICI Bank Limited i.e. We regret for the inconvenience, however we have already placed the request for the dispute of the transactions against the request number SR86397279 and we request you to wait for 30 days to know the status of the request. Till 13 Mar’2009 I did not get any reply from bank and I had been sending reminder notice for the same. After many reminder notice I got reply that the mentioned transaction has not being charged to your account. Kindly make the payment for the Rs.56730/-. Where as in this period they keep me charging interest and sub interest and make the outstanding of 567630/-.

In between this episode recovery agents kept on calling me on my Mobile and home telephone, my father got 100 of calls for depositing the money. Even after informing the caller of the situation, the calls did not end and at some time they were threatening in nature.

These recovery agent call anytime on phone, mobile, irrespective you are sleeping in early morning or late night. They come anytime in group, gave several personal visits insulting my father at home. My father lost his mental and physical health both because of horror of ICICI Bank recovery agents. Today he is suffering from much health related tensions including insomnia because of ICICI Bank torture for the agony caused to him.

This is a serious concern, I and my aged father has been harassed by these people of ICICI bank collection Agency of ICICI Bank.

1. Shouted at my father and gave him mental torture.

2. Used foul and raw languages

3.Gave threats and was very abusive.

4. Taunted and tried to humiliate.

Due to this in the month of Jan 09 I decided to close this issue and interested to make necessary payments in this current economic slowdown. I have done settlement with ICICI bank and they settled my account in Twenty Thousand in three installments. First they asked Rs.5000 as 1st installment and rest in three installments. They had taken Rs.5000 Cheque from my father and did not turn up with the settlement letter till date. In April’ got a call from ICICI regarding the settlement of account and took Rs450/- Rs. 50/- (Rs. 500/-), again in May’2009 I got a call from settlement department Rohini Sector – 8 and they settled my account in Rs.10397/- and issue letter against the same, in which they clearly mentioned full & final settlement of credit card no. 4477470245753000 and repayment plan 1st installment of Rs.2397 on 22/05 (Cheque) 2nd installment of Rs. 4000 on 18/06 (Cheque) 3rd installment of Rs. 4000 on 18/07 (Cheque) and original settlement letter send by courier in 12 hrs. after clearance of the 1st installment. Since then I did not make any kind of payment and they kept charging interest on my credit card.

I would like to inform you that despite of above ICICI bank has put all these charges on my Saving bank (Salary Account) and freezed my account towards the outstanding credit card dues. Now tell where to go for this traumatic tensions or experiences due to financial institutes Who misuses power of Section 138, 420, 406 & statutorily granted on innocent clients. As because loans and credit cards are taken by peoples to improve self quality of life and not to spoil own career. Circumstances at all time do never remain the same.

In all fairness, ICICI Bank should have at least checked our credit worthiness before going on this harassment and hounding rampage till we had no option but to carry out our own investigation and point out the problem to you.
