Non-refunding of excess premium on pre-mature cancellation of ICICI Lomabard - Home contents policy

Dear Sir/Madam,

I had taken a ICICI Lomabard - Home contents policy in 2005 for 5 yrs but as the Insurer denies to change the residence address and to cover the same contents at new residence, I decided to cancell the policy no. 4013/041712/00/001 .The same was confirmed as cancelled on 23/03/09 by ICICI also. But on account of refund of excess premium as the policy was cancelled before maturity, they are asking an unusal thing i.e - copy of bank statement of 2005 as proof of payment (from which premium was paid). I requested them that its very old and I also not exactly not remember from which bank the premium was paid and no bank will give the bank statement so old. Also on the other hand, why exactly they require the same when they can also check their records and confirm the same. But inspite of so many request and confirmation they are not willing to understand and is insisting on their point of providing the bank statement.

Its more or less a non-refunding attitude of ICICI Lombard.

Pls help in resolving the issue at the earliest.
