Income tax refund

I was eligible for income tax refund of Rs 12000 for Assessment Year 2006.On checking the status of refund on Income Tax website it was stated that the refund cheque has already been encashed on April 21 having SBI Reference Number CMP545198 while the fact being that i had neither got the cheque nor was the money credited to my bank account via ECS till date.
