I am a working soldier of Indian Air Force. I reserved my ticket on Free Railway Warrants. Due to service exigencies i surrendered my reservation and got the cancelled tickets on 05-03-09 (Cencelled tickets No.26680682, 26680683, 26680684 & 26680685). I went to Chief Ticket Superintendent, Izatnagar Railway Station on the same day to get Ticket Deposit Receipt (TDR). But due to non availability of TDR, the Chief Ticket Supdt asked me to come any other day for the same. Accordingly, on 13-03-09 at 1545hrs i went to Izatnagar Railway Station and asked the Chief Ticket Supdt for TDR. As that time there were two trains waiting for departure at the station, the Ticket Supdt asked me for a while and after the trains departure he will issue the same. I waited till 1625hrs and went to the Station Master's room (adjacent to Chief Ticket Supdt's Office) and enquired about the Ticket Supdt. The Station Master (on 13-03 at 1625hrs) replied me that the Ticket Supdt packed up at 1600hrs and i am late for asking a TDR. I asked him for the Complaint Register but he denied to provide the same. Also, he asked me to provide any proof of my complaints. He also used some abusive languages.
As i am a soldier and engaged in various shift duties, it is not possible to come frequently for the task. Also, a commuter/passenger can not provide any such proof for these type of harassment by Indian Railways Staffs. How a commuter can provide a proof that he came twice and asked the Chief Ticket Supdt for TDR? Also, if he is barred from writing a complaint, how the problems will be rectified?
Indian Railways is a profitable organisation and must looks after the comfort of the commuters. I believe, higher authorities will look after these type of problems and will punish the staff accordingly who are in faults.
