Indiatoday Bookclub
Non delivery of promised goods after taking payment

Indiatoday bookclub contacted me over phone offering 12 books, travel coupons and a watch for Rs.2598.00 which I paid through credit card on 5/2/09. For the last two months they have been dodging the delivery. They have given an order number 1100005467. I attach my set of corespondence.

Dear Sir,

Attn Mr. Jeetendar Kumar Thakur

This has reference to the long list of correspondence I have had with you on my order. As I have not recieved my books for the last several days, I had spoken to Shri Sunil today. He was again not able to trace the order. This is becoming one big joke, I wanted to talk to Mr. Jeetendar Kumar Thakur, and I was put to him. During the discussions the phone got cut. I could not complete my discussions. As jeetendar did not get back to me on my phone, I again dailled IBC phone and spoke to lalit, who said that all phone lines got cut and furthur said that jeetendar was working on my case and will call me. Can you please solve the issue.

Attn Mr. Jeetendar Kumar Thakur,

Thanks for the e-mail and the phone call. The e-mail is the first reply to my several e-mails and I am glad that you have chosen to respond once the matter was brought to your knowledge. Your phone call on 18th itself was also a positive response. You had advised me in the phone conversation that it will take a week for me to get the parcel. A week has since elasped and I am still awaiting the parcel. Kindly look into it and do the needful.

Dear sir,

I forward all the previous correspondence on the above mentioned subject. I have not rercieved the books and the free gift of travel vouchers, free watch etc. On ringing up your India book club, I was told by Ms. Mamta that the order traced by Mr. Ravindra kumar is once again untracable! This cannot happen twice unless it is intended to be a fraud or your people are utterly careless, which they cannot be as my money is already debited. I also observe that none of my e mails have been answered or even acknowledged! My calls from hyderabad are STDs ands cost hell of a lot. I was kept on hold today for half an hour and told that someone will call by 24 hours. As I did not accept that I was put onto the supervisor Mr. Jeetendar kumar Thakur. He said he will call in half an hour. I made it clear to him that if such dodging continues, I will go to consumer court. I hope that he call me back!

Dear sirs,

Please see all my emails to you in this subject as below. I still had not got any response from you. Today, I spoke on telephone to your call centre. One gentleman by name Ravindrakumar attended the call. He took a lot of efforts to trace my order. The order number is 1100005467. I have again given my address to him. I hope that the parcel will be delivered to me in a week as promised by him. I want to greatly appreciate this gentleman for the good efforts and excellent service rendered. Please convey my congratulations to him.

Dear Sirs,

I give below the various e mails that I have sent to you on my order. I made a mistake by paying my order in advance. I have not got the books or the money! Nor have I got any acknowledgement of my several e-mailsmail letalone a message that the matter is being looked into. Obviously, it now is clear to me that this is a likely fraud and that you will not do anything about this! Please do not force me to go to newspaers and consumer court! I hope that you will resolve the case quickly.

Dear sir,

I am forwarding two e-mails I have sent regarding my order for which I have not got my books and gift vouchers delivered. I spoke to Sourav awasti today. Even though he was very helpful he could not trace my order. I do not have my order number for reasons stated in my first e-mail. Could you please acknowledge this e-mail first and trace out my order and deliver my books. I seem to be losing faith in your organisation after this painful episode.

Dear Sir,

Please refer to my e-mail dated the 7th March 09 regarding my order, for which I have not recieved books. I am very sorry to note that there has been no response or even acknowledgement of my e mail. I would like to know the fate of my order. Alternatively please refund my money if you are not in a position to trace my order. Your silence is not becoming of an organisation of your stature. I hope that atleast now I will get a response.

dear sir,

I am a regular subscriber of indiatodaybookclub.com. On 5th february somebody (I recorded the name and number but I have misplaced the paper) phoned up and made an offer which I accepted. I paid the money (Rs.2598) over telephone. I was told that I would get the books and gift vouchers within a foftnight. Since it was amonth and I did not get the books I rang up your call centre. Mr Azeem Khan attended the call and he could not trace the address or the order. I was asked to enclose a copy of my credit card statement for sorting this. I am attaching this. Please advise me whether the order has been booked, when the money has reached you, and if so why the consignment was not sent to me. My phone number is 919963720909, address H.Subramaniam, DGM (PBU), State Bank of India, Local Head office, 6th floor,

Bank Street, koti, Hyderabad 500095.

I am sorry to add that when I spoke to Azim, the call was not handled to my satisfaction and I was put on 20 minutes hold when I wanted to talk to his supervbisor, whom I never talked to ultimately.
