Sir/Madam,
Humbly I would like to inform you that I have been working as Deputy Manager, Central Bank of India since long and I have purchased 6 YEARS NATIONAL SAVINGS CERTIFICATES OF THE FOLLOWING denominations on 26.03.2003 from KHARAGPUR-721301Head Post office (West Bengal) while I was at Kharagpur. Subsequently I have been transferred to BERHAMPUR (Ganjam) Orissa and stayed there up to June and thereafter I have transferred and Posted at Park street Branch of Kolkata (W.B) and continuing as such. The noted below N S Cs were matured on 26.03.2009 during my stay at Berhampur, so I have applied to the Post Master, Head Post Office, Berhampur (Ganjam, Orissa) to get those NSCs transferred from Khargpur Post office to Berhampur GPO. Even after my several correspondence and approaches the same was not transferred till 04.08.09 and for which I had been to Kharagpur Post Office on 04.08.09 and apprised the matter to the Post Master of the said Branch, Who in return has canceled all NSCs and put his initial on the space specified on the bond and prepared a cheque for the total matured amount and was about to handover the same to me but at last stated that “the said NSCs are already transferred to Berhampur GPO and could not be had over the matured amount here at Kharagpur” for which he has cancelled the cheque. But he has pleased en-cashed one of the NSCs denominations worth of Rs 10, 000/- (face value).
Sir, My grievance is that even after lapse of several months due to the fault of the Postal department I am not able to get my NSCs en-cashed and could not get the amount till date and I have been harassed like anything and due to mental agony I have been suffering from hypertension and gastric problem. If at all Kharagpur Branch has already transferred to Berhampur why the same could not reach to Berhampur.
Hence it is prayed that your honour be gracious enough to take kind note of it and be pleased direct the concerned authorities to release the amount with appropriate interest till the date of payment and for which I shall be highly obliged other wise I will be compeled to take shelter before the court of law and you will held responsible for the compentation, costs and ancialary expencess.
