Sub: Policy No. 734147929 (Max NewYork Life Insurance)

I am A K Chadda and I am a 61 yrs old man staying in Lucknow with my family. I was introduced a MAX NEWYORK insurance policy (Policy No. 734147929) by Mr Ajay Srivastava from Lucknow Office (Max New York Life Insurance), who came to my office on 29-04-09. But due to some personal reasons after a week or so, I informed him that I don’t want to continue the policy. As Ajay Srivastava instructed me, I gave a written request stating that I want to surrender the policy due to some personal reasons and Mr Ajay Srivastava kept that written request with him. I didn’t get any response from MAX NEWYORK LIFE INSURANCE CO. till 13-05-09 after which I decided to visit the MAX NEW YORK office (Lucknow) personally. It was very disappointing when I had to wait for more than one hour and no one appeared. Finally Mr Amit Khare (Operations) came and I explained him the whole matter. He checked the current status of my policy on his computer and said that I will get the refund in 15 Days. I again submitted a written request to him along with the policy.

Eventually a day, I was waiting for the refund amount when I received the message on my mobile “ Dear customer document dispatched for your policy 734147929 is returned to us undelivered. Call us on tollfree #18002005577 to update your record”.

The Policy which I returned to Mr Amit khare with a written request was taken by MAX NEWYORK CO. as UNDELIVERED . I already surrendered the policy to Mr Amit Khare and was getting the message on my mobile that the policy is undelivered. It was not understood as somethind was fishy. I was so much annoyed with the company’s behaviour that I rushed to the Max NewYork Office, Lucknow where I met again Mr Ajay Srivastava. He told me to sit in the office as Mr Amit Khare will come and meet me. I was compelled to sit in the office for Four hours and finally I was told that Mr Amit Khare is busy in a meeting so he cannot meet me. And I was told to come next day at 11 A.M . I was so much mentally harassed while these people had no concern about my old age also.

Next day, I reached at 11:00 hrs at Max New York office, Lucknow on 23 -06. I was again asked to wait as Mr Ajay Srivastava was not in the office. So I met Mr Amit Khare who said that I will have to wait for Mr Ajay Srivastava. I was sitting in the office for one hour when finally Mr Ajay Srivastava arrived. Finally I again explained the whole situation to Mr Amit Khare and Mr Ajay Srivastava .. I was shattered when they both told me that I will not get the refund.

I had given a surrender request in writing to Mr Ajay Srivastava immediately before the time of revival of policy. Again, when I met Mr Amit Khare on 13-5-09 who told me after checking on computer that I will get the refund in 15 days. There and then I submitted a written request to Mr Amit Khare also along with policy. It is thus not understood and not acceptable as to why such a reputed company and its employees are doing this. Why I am being harassed and tortured?? Is this some kind of a fraud?? I want to bring this case to consumer forum and individually also I will have to file a case against MAX NEW YORK if I do not get the refund at the earliest.
