I have approached this agency (abhyam, kottayam) whi is providing maidsin and outside kerala. I wanted a lady to take care of my daughter who is 2 yrs old and for cooking. I got a person in March. I dont have any complaints about the person. However, she wanted advance salary (Rs.25000) in APril, just one month after she started working with us. At first we were not ready, but finally we gave her money (Rs.20000). Once she worked for 4 months, she again asked for advance and this time we said, we cannot. So she said she need to go home and took leave for ten days (from August 14). We paid her full month's salary and train fare also. We asked the owner of the agency Mr. Tom, for a subsititue, as per the agreement, when the lady did not turn out after 10 days. At first he said, its Onam time and so he dont have any body available. Then we waited for almost 15 days. we visited and called him regualry, but all in vain. He didnot give any body till september 24th and so we said we dont want his service and asked him to give back the advance salry paid to him, since we have paid the servant a whole months salary, which we need not as per the contract. We had to visit him four times before he give us a cheque, dated one month after. Trouble is not yet over, he returned the cheque and didnt pay us till. It is November 11th now, more than 1.5 months..
