I bought the Nokia 3610 fold handset as a replacement for an older Motorola handset. I chose Nokia over other more attractive models from Samsung and Motorola because I had an impression of better quality and service.
However, within one week of using the handset, it became defective. Local Nokia Care centre in Bangalore at Koramangala (Star Electronics) took 1 week to check status and then send to head centre for repairs. I was told that the handset would be either repaired or replaced within a total of 3 weeks.
Even after 4 weeks, there is no definite delivery date for the repaired handset. Neither is there any initiative from Nokia to replace handset or provide a substitute during the delay... even as a token service. I never expected such pathetic service from Nokia. Nokia is a definite no no in future.
Apparently, the chip has to be replaced but it is out of stock in India because the ’set is new’ - but the packaging date on the set is 2-3 months prior to purchase. Whatever happens, avoid Nokia especially Nokia 3610 fold if you are concerned about quality and service.
