Following is the communication with Adobe support, I think this is the classic example of greediness of Adobe.
1. Activation of Adobe softwares is something Adobe requires for their protection of investment to block the piracy.
2. Now the product is working fine without problem on Windows Vista, only a patch to license dll does not work correctly.
3. Adobe's reply >>> upgrade the product
WHY???
1. Product purchased is costliest from that product type.
2. Even after this investment, one can understand that product features may not be supported on later operating systems.
But the company should have at least some ethics to support customers when the product is getting paralysed because of their stupid coding for the activation kind of stuff at least.
I think this activation stuff is actually frustrating the genuine customers and at the same time people with illegal versions enjoy the product.

Dear Mr. Raj,
Although I do not have the exact technical details, I believe the patch does more than copy a few files.
Acrobat 7 and the RAID patch are not compatible with Microsoft Vista. Both were developed prior to Vista. They both may work fine but if an issue occurs which only occurs on a Vista platform, there is not much we can do.
My advice is to fill out the 'feature request' form on our website:

Dear Mr. Timon,
I think this patch just patches a few DLLs, I would not consider
upgrading because the patcher program can't update the DLLs, if you
could provide the patched dll files and tell the location where to place
these dlls, then I do not need to upgrade as Acrobat 7 is working fine
otherwise.
Afterall, I am not requesting any new development for Acrobat 7 that I
should be asked to upgrade, neither I am asking for any development for
compatibility reasons and the activation stuff is Adobe's requirement to
protect their own investments. So I hope that I should not forced to
upgrade for things like this.
Regards,
Raj

Dear Mr. Raj,
Unfortunately there is no patch available because Acrobat 7 and Creative
Suite 2, to which the patch applies, is not fully compatible with Vista.
The latest version is compatible with Vista so my advice is to consider
upgrading.
Yours Sincerely,

Dear Mr. Raj,
The 2.70 patch is only supported for Windows XP and will therefore not
work on Windows Vista.
