My mother-in-law, Mrs Matin Ahmed Ovaise had applied for a change in permanent address in her passport. The application was submitted on November 4th. (File reference no: DLH-R012365-08). The police verification took place very fast. However since then the we have been regularly checking the updates and find that as per the departments website on Decembet 26th, the status was "Police Report is clear. Application is under process" This status continued until Feburary 09. On checking the site on the status update stated "Passport has been granted and passport allotment is underway". Regretablle this status remains unchanged until this afternoon i.e April 7th!
It is very unfortunate that it is now over five months and yet the passport with the new permanent address has to be issued and that to for a senior citizen who is over 84 years in age!
I sincerely wish someone takes cognisance of this status and arrages to send her the passport.
