NON-RECEIPT OF PENSION

Sir,

MY FATHER, SHRI O.P. BATRA, HAD PENSION ACCOUNT IN SBI JANAKPURI BRANCH (A/C 10502105103, PPO NO. PAO/PC/373), WHEN WE WERE RESIDING THERE. WE SHIFTED TO YOJANA VIHAR AND GOT MY FATHER'S ACCOUNT TRANSFERED TO SBI ANAND VIHAR BRANCH (A/C NO 10502105103, PPO 327148500226). AFTER RECEIVING INTIMATION FROM THE BANK ABOUT THE TRANSFER OF MY FATHER'S ACCOUNT TO ANAND VIHAR BRANCH, ALL FORMALITIES WERE COMPLETED IN THE FIRST WEEK OF MAY WITH THE ASSURANCE THAT IMY FATHER WILL RECEIVE THE PENSION BY THE END OF THIS MONTH. WHEN WE WENT TO THE BANK TODAY (31/05/08) AND PRESENTED THE CHEQUE OF RS. 6000/- AFTER WAITING THERE FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR, WE WERE INFORMED THAT MY FATHER'S PENSION HAS NOT BEEN RECEIVED AND CREDITED TO HIS ACCOUNT. IS IT NOT REALLY IRONIC THAT A SENIOR CITIZEN, AROUND 80 YEARS OF AGE, IS BEING UNNECESSARILY BEING HARRASSED FOR NO FAULT OF HIS AND PUT TO FINANCIAL STRAIN.

YOU ARE REQUESTED TO KINDLY LOOK INTO THE MATTER AND GET PAYMENT OF MY FATHER'S PENSION CREDITED TO HIS ACCOUNT WITHOUT FURTHER DELAY.
