Mean Approach by Airtel Broadband (SEF No. TBLR 0023703)

I would like to share my experiences which I had after applying for Airtel Broadband.

I urgently needed broad band connection as I was supposed to work from home for a month. I requested for Airtel connection on 28th of August by calling the Customer Care. Initially I got a response that currently there is no connectivity in my area, so I started looking for other service providers.

On 2nd September I got a call from one of the Airtel Representative, saying that within a week they can provide me with connection, earlier connectivity issue has been resolved.

Next day he came to collect the required documents & collected a cheque of Rs 4000. (SEF No. TBLR 0023703).

Then onwards the problem started.

A week passed; still I didn't got any response from Airtel though the Cheque of Rs 4000 was already encashed.

I called Customer Care; they told there are some connectivity issues due to which it has been delayed. It will take another few days.

I waited for another week and contacted the customer care again, now they told you may not get the connection and we will refund you back your money in few days.

I also tried contacting the executive who came to my house and he told due to technical issues we won’t be able to give you the connection, it will take some time to refund back your money.

After calling Airtel for more than 10 times, finally I got my money back in the 1st week of October.

Then on discussing this issue with my friends I got the big picture. As the quarter end (Jul-Sept quarter) was nearing, so as to make their quarterly results look better they applied this tactics of holding the money & customer till the quarter ends.

There would be many other people who might have had similar experiences with Airtel.

On part of customer he feels cheated at the end; he has lost time and effort without getting anything in return. His money, his name has been mis-used by a company to boost of its financial results.

In the whole process I have contacted Airtel Customer care/Representatives more than 40 times.

Logged many complaints but no one was bothered about the real issue. Every time the response was we will refund your money in few days.

In first place my cheque should not have been encashed if they were not in postion to give the connection. Secondly if Airtel doesn't have connectivity in a particular area then, connectivity wont reach that area on its own unless and until they have a plan for expansion in place.

So please beware of such tactics...(I have plans to go further in logging complaints against them)

I am sure they will have nice quarterly results again this time :)
