Problem in changing my no09996800009. frm post to prepaid

I am using a postpaid number of airtel..now i want to change my no.to prepaid and local dealer is not giving proper response in changing my services.i have talked to customer care also they are also giving bad response and are saying golden numbers could not get changed..kindly help me in changing my number[09996800009] to prepaid.
