My name is Misbah and I am from Bangalore, India.
My husband has recently shifted from Canada and applied for an Airtel connection and paid Rs 500 and was allotted mobile number – 9845910022 upon submitting his Indian Origin card along with Canadian passport copy from the Cunningham Road office at Bangalore.
However within couple of days this is the sequence that followed.
1. Outgoing bared – We contacted the agent who had provided the cell number and she mentioned that Indian origin card that was provided as identity proof does not have an expiry date, no explanation was accepted that IOC does not have an expiry date and is a govt approved document and it should be accepted.
2. Disconnection of service – Inspite of multiple calls and requesting the service was disconnected and mentioned that we could submit another proof and it could be activated.
3. Cel number allotted withdrawn – We reached the office to provide the Indian license copy and we were informed that the cel number has been withdrawn and we could not use it. Solution provided was that we get a new number and Rs 500 was not refunded as it was adjusted against ‘activation charges’ (where no service was provided) & rentals etc.
New number was allotted after again paying Rs 500, ie 9902788022
Again the same sequence has followed, currently outgoing is barred, reason this time given is my husband is unemployed and is not eligible for an Airtel connection!! However if that was the case why was the number allotted in the first place??? We have wasted more than two month behind this, multiple calls, unreasonable illogical reasons for disconnection all the time and always dealt with irresponsible staff at the Cunningham road office…
At the moment they do not want to either refund my money stating they are going to charge us activation charges for a cel connection that was not active for more than few days!! We do not plan to pay Rs 1000 for getting harassed and mentally tortured by a well known company like AIRTEL!!

4. Call Center Complaint Id – 27166594. Raised on 15th April, reason mentioned at call center for disconnection ‘Enrollment form not received’.
My service was first activated on 30th March and it is currently more than 2 months of follow up and no resolution.
