Airtel
My sim not activated

I had brought airtel sim on 28-4-09, i had recharged it with life time validity, 1000 message free pack.but i dint get activated, i talked to costumer care centre they told it had activated, i talked to retailer, but the retailer doesnt seem to take back the sim and give it to airtel..what shall i do? my money? plz help
