This complaint is against my Neighbor Mr. Narasimha murthy, aged around 42 years, who is an electrician resides in the same area in a rented house with his wife, 2 children and his brother in law. His brother-in-law, Kumar (aged around 30 years) and his friend Gopal (around 35 years) who stays behind our building. I have already lodged a complaint against the above said parties at Adugodi police station on 26th February by 6.45am. I did not get the right Justice and No acknowledgement was given. Hence would like to bring it to your notice, and request you to kindly help us to lead a life peacefully. The Harassment is continuing even after 3 months. I am lodging this complaint against the said parties for the following reason.
1. I was hit very badly.
2. Threatening to Murder using weapons to me and my father, if the complaint was not taken back.
3. Threatening to assault, if the house was not vacated within 1 month (as we are not in a position to vacate immediately!)
4. Following me to my office n harassed/ abused me.
5. Throwing stones in our absence or while I sleep at home (Afternoon, late night. As I work in night shift)
6. Verbal abuses to me and my parents.
On 25th February I and my nephew were playing a Tamil movie on DVD by around 9.45pm, as our DTH connection had some problem from past 2 months. The volume was consistently medium and my neighbors who reside next to my house and opposite to my building had no problem with it.
Narasimha Murthy stays the other side of the road (20-30 tar road in between) which is parallel opposite next building to my house, Walked out of his home and started using filthy words on me and my parents, for playing movie. Right from the beginning he use to insult us in the name of community and language! Hence I requested him to behave decently and asked to hold his tongue! But the situation became worse and started using inappropriate words on me and my parents. He came down from his home with his Brother-in-law Kumar, and his friend Gopal (who was at his home joined him) Pulled me out of the gate and started hitting me black n blues. My spectacles and a watch worth 2500/- were broken at the scene. I faced them boldly; however I was helpless as they were three. My parents managed to pull me inside and locked the door. He then started throwing stones... because of which window glasses were broken.
Next Day morning by 6.45am I went to Adugodi police station to lodge a complaint against them. I met Sub Inspector Chandra shekar and lodged a complaint. He advised two constables to accompany me and investigate the details. The cops came and saw few evidences like my blooded t-shirt, broken window glass, specks, and watch. However, the two cops did not take him to police station… and said it’s a matter of dignity to him, and asked him to come directly. I accepted it.
I waited till the afternoon… and went directly to police station to check the status of my complaint. Sub inspector was not available. Hence left a message to a lady constable and return back. Again I went by 5.00pm and 7.00pm, informed the lady constable and came back with tears… with a hope of justice!
By around 9.45pm, Sub Inspector and a constable came… and started questioning him. However He started to give verbal abuses to me right in front of the sub inspector and called a group of friends from the same area to support him. A person Named Sudarshan, who came to speak on behalf of him, tried for a smooth conversation and asked an apology on behalf of Narasimha murthy and his brother in law Kumar. He did not support Gopal. I accepted his request and was briefing him what happened. Suddenly a group of 7-8 members rushed my home and tried to assault me and pulled my father out and started threatening him using filthy words with weapons (Gopal, Kumar, and 5-6 others. Gopal has used screw driver.) My father replied them and reported the same to Sub-Inspector. But the police did not help us…. Instead pulled my father to police station!!! For which I intervened and spoke for justice! Then the police left the scene without taking action against Murthy, Gopal, and Kumar or on his friends who tried to assault us. I was alone with my parents. My parents locked the door to avoid further mishaps.
Next day Mr. Sudarshan (who is a friend of Murthy) again came to my home with Murthy’s father, tried to apologize for what ever happened and accepted to pay for the losses occur by his friend/son in front of my sisters and in-laws. I accepted it. But Till date they did not keep up their words!!! Hence did not take back the complaint from the police station. Went to police station more than 7 times, but could not meet the Sub Inspector. I was told he was on leave for a week. Sometimes not available. Hence I lost hope.
The problem started from then onwards. Narasimha murthy’s friend Gopal and his brother-in-law started behaving indecently and started following me for few meters and would give verbal abuse very badly. Twice stopped me and threatened me to take back the complaint or to face dread consequences! They even came to my office. (Which is quite close by) By around 8.15am on 17th march. They came near my office as my friends saying there was some serious family issue! Called me out to explain the same. But then I realized after seeing them, requested them not to create any scene near the office. They threatened to take back the complaint. I lost my peace!
My House Owner stays in Jayanagar and she is 67 year old women. They have called her and have told unnecessary complaint against me and my mother! Because of which they are asking us to vacate home! (I pay rent regularly without fail, no complaints against me, by any of my neighbor till date! (except Murthy and family) and have also agreed for a 5% hike in rent!) My owner blindly believes whatever others say! Sometimes agrees whatever we say!
However we are not in a position to vacate home! I strictly opposed her behavior and asked to give 6 months time to vacate. But owner says to vacate within 1 month! Sir… I am from a middle class family and my parents are old. How is it possible to vacate immediately?
I am unable to concentrate on my work. We have lost peace. Every minute we are afraid of thinking what next!!! My mother is experiencing a kind of trauma and starts shedding tears every time thinking about the same issue. My father is frustrated. Ours was small and happy family, but now all the happiness is gone vein! We have a kind of desert feeling when we come home. What is the mistake we have made? Is it just playing movie on DVD or lodging a complaint for justice?
This is a question of humanity! Without doing any mistake why should I and my parents undergo all these harassment? We have lost peace. We are just three. My father is 60 years old and mother is 50! I am the only care taker of them and wish to lead a life peacefully until we are here!
Expecting police or the senior authorities to consider my complaint and take appropriate action against Murthy, Kumar and Gopal.
Expecting justice with tears every minute!
