Iam ramkumar, age 29 from Saidapet AC, Ward N0 172 (Old Ward No.141). I & my parents already have Voter ID and after my marriage, I applied for my wife in July. till now i have not got the Voter ID with correct details.
I am desperatley in need of Voter ID for my wife.
here are the details of the process i gone through,
Applied for my wife through Online 6th July and got the name added in Draft Electoral roll published on 25th October with ID No: AFM0720102. but the address was wrongly captured as "Sriram Nagar Main Road" instead of "Sriram Nagar First Street" and my relation was captured as Father instead of Husband.
Staffs in the Saidapet Election office adviced to get the ID card first (eventhough with wrong details) and then correct the details. Also they said that the cards will be issued before 2011 Assemble elections (April). But i didnt get the ID card till July. when i approached the Staffs in Saidapet Election office, they asket me to submit Form-001C, for getting duplicate ID Card. i applied for it and got the card with incorrect details as mentioned above. Later in September' i applied for correction of the details and submitted Form-8 as per the election staff advice.
i was much awaited for the correct details in the draft electoral roll released in October. But now only the relationship was corrected as husband and still the addess was wrong. The staffs were irresponsible and say that, i have to give the Form-8A (for correcting the address) and the details will be corrected in the Summary Revision to be released on 5th Jan. when i supposed to meet the higher official in the Saidapet office they said that the concerned officer is in meeting and is not available. With lot of frustration, i filled and gave the Form-8A also.
Finally in the 2012 Summary revision, my wifes name was removed and taken to the Deletion Section. when i fighted with the staff, they reply that they cannot do anything because, for Form 8A, they will first delete the voter from the existing section of the roll and then add it in the correct address section of the Electorol roll. in the process somebody have deleted and forgot to add the name in the correct address.
Finally now they are asking me to give Form-6, for inclusion of name in Electoral Roll and the same will be included in the October revision.
At last i came to back to where i started in July. In the last 2 years, i must have visited the Saidapet Election office atleast 15 times for obtaining a basic necessity of a citizen. Should i listen to those irresponsible fellows anymore?
This is really a shame. Should a Citizen wait more than 2 years & visit the department 15 - 20 times to get a Voter ID?
I dont know what to do at this stage.
Can anyone advice me how to handle this...
